The McGill Sikh Students’ Association provides a welcoming and inclusive space for all students while fostering greater awareness of Sikh values, heritage, and identity on campus. Guided by the Sikh principles of Seva (selfless service), Sarbat da Bhalla (upliftment of all), and Chardi Kala (resilient optimism), the MSSA is committed to sharing these values and embedding them within the association, across campus life, and in the wider community. Our mission is to bring a distinctly Sikh perspective to academia and student life by organizing lectures, workshops, and mentorship programs that explore Sikh thought, history, and lived experiences. We aim to support students in their academic journeys while also encouraging reflection on how Sikh teachings can inform approaches to scholarship, leadership, and community engagement. Recognizing the richness of Sikh academia and its importance in shaping both personal and collective growth, the MSSA works to connect with aspiring students, provide mentorship, and foster networks that integrate Sikh values into academic, professional, and community spheres. In doing so, we seek to strengthen Sikh representation at McGill while contributing meaningfully to the university’s intellectual and cultural diversity.
